TREASURES OF BROTHER JOHN : BIRDS, STONES
—————————————————-

It was Saturday morning and the children and animals were waiting in a car with the monks in the park by the swan pond. Because young swans were growing fast, Reni and Elon brough boiled vegetables from home to feedthe birds. Thelabyrinths swamat thevery shore and thankedfor refreshments.
The children in his facilities also had sandwiches for themselves, pet fod, juices and drinking water. The weather was nice, sunny.
Acording to the agreement, two monks came to the pond and took all four of them to the car.
In the garden, next to the aviary with birds, there was also a smal, white church and abbot Joseph was waiting on its treshold. He was a tall, shouldered man witha long, rud beard.
He hugged the kids like that: Callme Uncle Joseph. First, I will take you to the conservatory sothat you can get a closer look at thebirds that brother Jhn saved.
There were parrots, peacocks, young eagles and condors, falcon and others whose names thechildren did not know. Abbot Joseph explained: The rides of these birds have the own story of friendship with brother John and he can tellit to you. But birds won’t stay here much longer. One will be set free in their hometowns. For ohers, we will find friendly homes. After John’s death, they can no longer stay here alone.
Then abbot Joseph led children and animals to a shed with books. He said: now we wil open the chest with brother John’s treasures, which he brought from his travels.
There were a lot of things inthe huge wooden crate.Uncle Joseph let thchildren carefully remove these things, look at them, admire them. The abbot sat down in chair and asked the monkEusebius, who was with him, to open the padlock closing the lid of chest. Then he orderedremove the large metal box and pour its contents on the floor.
Everyone was delighted to see a large number of stones and its various shapes and colors.
Joseoh said: These stones are from all over world. From rivers, mountains, steppes, deserts, mines, volcanoes, even meteorities from outsideEarth. In each of the stones there is an enchanted story, the onlyone, uniqque.
See what colors these stones have, it results from their hemical composiion, and this is what you will learn at school one day. Some stones are translucent. Some are very light and other are very heavy. And here, look,on these stones you can see theimprits of plants from time of dinosaurs.
Reni shouted: We were looking here at a book about these animals. The dog Trolly growled: these stones also have smells, I can smell water, mud, fire.
The abbot continued: Those that smell of fire come from volcanoes. Volcanoes have thrown him out their interiors.Do you know what volcanoes are?
Elon said: I know, its the fire-breathingmountains and the bench. The bench is very hot, these aremolten stones. I think there isa stone made of solidified lava here. Elon pointed to gray, wrinkled stone.
Abbot Joseph said: Yes,this is a piece of bench from Mount Vesuvius in Italy. And do you know what meteorities are? These are the stones that fell on the Earth from space.Have you heard of the nights of shooting stars ? This is when a lot of meteorities fall to Earth. You can see how they fly and look lie sparks. Meteorities are very bad, because by studying them, scientist can learn something about the planets from where these stones came. You won’t see a meteorite here. Because when someone finds a meteorite, they should have it examined in scientific labolatories.
After examining the stones, the abbot ordered Eusebiusand childrento put them all back into box. He said: Now we’re taking a break.I am going back to the abbey. And you here wait for meal you will get from us. See you.
