TOUCHES BY GOD (STORIES ABOUT REAL ACTIVITY UNEXPLORED POWERS) : 15
PERSEVERATIVE INEFFECTIVE MEETINGS
——————————————–
Catherine a month ago turned 8 and now she was supposed to go to a summer camp for children on them national elite of teachers. He rparents bought her a small suitcase and put her on a long-distance train going to the other, nort end of the country (a conductor was supposed to take care ot the girl on th train). Catherine was very happe, becouse she was about to see sea for first time in her life.
One afternoon, when Catherine looked into the capm playroom, she saw a group of older boys at the piano, who ironically commented on the apperance of girls playing there. The boys were led by L.and was then that Catherine heard his name and surname for the first time.
Catherine went to her room and took out hr most beatiful dress fron her suitcase ( it was a red velvet dress with black dots) Dressed like that, she walked proudly and slowly past a grop of boys at the piano. She pretended not to hear the exclamations of delight, did not look back.
About 14 years later Catherine was a former student at a country-famous uniiversity ina remote city. She once noticed that she was being stubbornly watched by a student older than her. When she looked at him,she immediately recognized L.He had the same w wide pale face and the same posable mine and body posture. From a senior colleague Catherine learned that L. is a last -year student of the same field of study and the editor of a nationwide student magaine. It is not known if L. recognized that Caherine is the same girl from seaside camp. Itis known that then and now L. knew her name and surname. And this time Catherine pretended not to know L. There was no conversation between them.
After a few years, Catherine graduated and moved to another city, distant from the previous one.Shencewrote to a cultural weekly asking for some information. She received a comprehensive response from L., even though she letter was addressed to another person. She was busy with many things, didn’t sent a thank you.
In abou two years, there was another meeting of these two, the most provocative abd yet ineffective. They met on a commuter train by the same sea. It was the summer tourist season and there was a lot of pressure on the train.
Itis completely unknown how it happened that Catherine and L. found themselves wagon and in the same place in the corridor.
They drove for several dozen minutes squeezed in a crowd of several centimeters face to face!
Both pretend not to know each other, avoided looking into each other’seyes!
Catherine was with her husband, L.was with his wife.
It is interesting that both mariages were childless and after a few years ended in divorce.
So maybe fate wanted the twoof them to necessaritly become a couple?
Or mabe the souls of these two were able to oppose fate because they felt that their possible relationship would be tragic ?
