DREAMS OF LOVE ————–

On a small forest clearing among various herbs and grasses, a martagon lily grew.
This plant with numerous, very intensely fragnant lilac flowers used to be of old worshipped as magical and medicinal. It was cared for, danced around it. Its flowers, leaves and roots were worshipped.
Near the clearing there was a wolf den. While the little wolves were playing, one of them, named Cris, enchanted by the scent of lily, sought her out and ran closer. He was very delighted with the lily, he lay down next to it, he was moved, and almost wept at lily’s beauty and fragnance. In he order words, Criss fell in ove with this lily,called her Queen.
But Queen didn’t love him and hardly noticed. She loved the knight who had recently passed by here on horseback. The knight had fair hair ,a sword, shiny armor. His horse was white with spots, and red harness.
That is lily admonished the wolf in a humming voice: Go on play somewhere else,or you’ll crush me!
But Criss did not go away, he answered: I will never leae you, because I love you very much.You’re so beatiful and you smell so wonderful. You have the voice of an angel when you talk to me. My name is Criss and I live here not far away with my mother , brothes and sisters. When I grew up, I will be the king of wolves. I named you Queen, do you like it.
Lily answered: This my name is beatiful, I will like it. But I have to explain to you , that I donn’t love you. I love a knight who sometimes rides by here on horseback. When you see im, run after him and see where he lives. Try to bring him here. Persuade him to dig me out of here and move me to his garden.
Criss promised to grant Queen’s wish. In return, lily agreed to let wolf tidy up areaarund her, pul lweeds and arrage colored stones around her, water her with water from a nearby stream. He also persuaded the wild wasps to make a nest in the tree next. Criss taugh them to attack and bite anyone who wanted to pluck flowers from Queen.
For several days, Criss waited by the path until he finally saw the knight on horseback. He stealthily ran afer him and saw that the knight lived on a hil, in a fortified castle. From the local dogs, wolf learned that he knight’s name was Arthur and he was very rich and famous. Now he lives in his castle for the time being, because his young wife gave birth to a child. But soon sir Arthur set sof his entourage on another crusade to the Holy Land to fight the Muslims and drive them out there.
The young wolf understood that theknight Arthur would not havethe time or inclination to reciprocate Queen’s love. He asked a raven fiend to write a love letter together from Arthur to Queen, so that he could comfort her. While dictating letter to the raven,Criss was learning to read and write at the same time. Then they asked buterfly, who was the postman, to deliver the letter to Queenn and read it to her if she couldn’t read.
When Criss later visited Queen, he found her very happy. She thanked him for finding the kniight and told him about the letter. Wolf suggested that sheagree that the raven Gray would help her reply to tis letter and deliver it to knight Arthur at the castle. He whistled at the raven and it flew in right away.
Lily joyfully rustled and sang her love poems for Arthur and the raven wrote them down.
Even if he wanted to deliverthe letter to Arthur, it would not be possible, because the knight was already far away,on his way to the Holy Land. Therefore, Cris and Gray decided to write further lettters to Queen as if they were written by Arthur. Pretendingto be knight Arthur, they assured in letters that he loved Queen and missed her,they described her travels and battles that were written about in the newspapers.
Queen dictated her answers to the raven, describing what was happening in the clearing and the forest. The raven also wrot down her poems and songs, her dreams of future meeting with Arthur and their further life together. They attached individual flowers to the letters, which the raven pucked Queen at ther request.
Days an weeks passed anyway. Arthur fought in Holy Land and knew nothing about Queen. Wolf Criss could not admit her to the hoax, besides, he loved Queen more and more.

It was a beatiful day in September. Ariadne, wife of knight Arthur, went on a trip to the forest. She took with her firstborn son Alexander, who already knew how to walk little. The little boy in the large basket was carried by Ariadne’s maids. In addition, food baskets and empty baskets for forest’s reasures:mushrooms and herbst were carried.
The whole group stopped for arest on the shore of already known clearing.Seeing the abundance of mushroms and herbst, everyone scattered to collect him.
Little Alex slept on his basket but woke up,freed himself from the creasing leash and went out on the grass. Near it, a zigzag snake was basking. Seeing the boy,begann crawl towards him. Alex did not know that the snake was poisonous so he was not afraid and followed the snake with interest.
The wolf Criss saw it and immediately took care of the boy’s safety. He called out to the wasps he had trained and, with them, rushed to defend the boy. Wasps attaked the snake, sat on top and stuck stings into it.Enraged, the snake escaped, but managed to bite Criss hard.
Hearing the cry of the boy and buzzing of the wasps, the women quickly returned to the clearingHowever, they did not understand whathad happened. Seeing Criss lying down, they though the was the the one who thew himself at Alex and the wasps, sawing the boy, bit wolf. They had a gun and decided to shoot the wolf.
And at this moment they heard wonderful singing of lily Queen.WheN quenn sang, the wasps danced and their dance told what happened here. Immediately, the raven Gray go who knew human speech, also flew in. He told how wolf and the wasps defended the boy and how snake bit Criss.
The woman decided to immediately return to the castle and ask the local doctorto cure the wolf by giving him an injection of the viper venom antidote.They made their shawls a stretcher, puta wolf on it and ran to the castle.
The doctor gave the wolf two injections and connected the drip with vitamins. After a few hours Criss regained consciousness.
Then he saw behind lying in bed and crying, beatiful Ariadna and little Alex stroking his fur. Nex to him on the back of the chair sat the raven Gray and reminded ti Criss what had happened and how found himself in the castle under the care of a doctor.
The wolf was very touched and weakened. Buthe asked if somethingbad had happened to his beloved Queen. He cried why he found out Queen saved his life first.
When the wolf recovered for several days, he and raven told Ariadne about the letters they wrote to Queen pretending her husband. All together they decided to fix this hoax and make Queen’s dreams come true.
They returned to the forest clearing andread lily the order of knight Arthur. The night asked if lily agreed to dig her out of clearing and move her to his garden, where he could greet her every day and nurture her.
Queen quessed that knight Arthur loved his wife and son the most. She decided to stay in the forest clearing. She only asked that the knight and his family visit her here. She was also happy that the wolf Criss lives nearby and they will see each other.
Lily also composed a new song. She sang softly to murmures that she dies and born a second time, she will be a beatiful young girl. And then,the second-born knight Arthur falls in love with her. Then they wil lbe the happiest couple in the world. They will live in a huge palace in Holy Land and have a lot of beatiful children.
The whole forest listened to his song. Wolf Criss wasalready an adult, became king here and married. With his wolf’s wife often visited lily Queen. Peole and wolves nurtured new plants that grew from her flowers.
Aftera few years, lilies bloow andvsmelled all over the clearing.The clearing was called the Queen Garden.
