A SMALL GIFTS FROM AN ANGEL

ISABELL
A little girl, let’s call her Isabell, came back after school. She was in no hurry to get home. She knew the apartment was closed and Mom wasn’t coming home from work until two hours later.
She was hungry and stopped on the way, inhaling the smell of the bakery. She watched older boys try to get free rolls or croissants from the bakery.
The boys, huddled, sneaked under the open bakery window on the ground floor, where the backers provocatively placed rolls and croissants on the windowsill. When the baker noticed the boy’s hand reaching for fresh baking, he grabbed the hand and sprinkled flour on the boy’s head, and laughed. Sometimes the boys succeeded, they had to listen outside the window to see if the baker was called to some work away from the window. Then the boy immediately snatched the baking and ran to the street. Waving cheerfully to his friends, he immediately ate the prey. Other hungry children looked at him with delight and envy.
Isabell heard someone whisper inside her ear: Reach into your jacket pocket, there’s something. The girl searched both pockets and found nothing in them.
But then the whisper, now quieter and as if repeated inside the head: Look again, to the bottom of your pocket.
And then the girl felt that she had some paper in her hand. After pulling it out, it turned out to be a banknote with a denomination sufficient to buy a cake interspersed with cream.
The shop was next to the bakery, in the same building. Isabel immediately bought a cookie and ate with taste.
2. JOE
There was a cinema a few hundred meters from the bakery. Children’s films were shown there on Sundays before noon. The ticket cost half of the price of the cookie Isabell bought .Most children received a coin for the ticket from their parents.
Shortly after the cookie incident, Isabell and her friend were standing in front of the cinema. They had already bought tickets for the screening and were waiting for the door to open to the cinema room. The girls watched curiosity the boy we will call Joe
Joe bent over stubbornly looking for something among the rubbish rolling around the cinema. Among the rubbish there were also used tickets, which people threw away after leaving the cinema. Joe picked up the tickets and read the inscriptions on them.
At one point, Joe shouted with joy: I have! I found a ticked for this screening! Maybe someone lost it.
Isabell said: If someone lost ticket, he wound look for it. And Joe answered: Some miracles and magic.Something told me to look for a ticket here, and I found it. We’re going, they’ve already opened the door.
Isabell thought: Maybe some invisible wizard came here now from somewhere and gives gifts to poor children. She didn’t know there were also angels in world.
